Amigos de Garcia Productions is currently in production on season one of the CBS comedy series “The Millers” and the show’s casting director is conducting a national talent search seeking a young girl to play the series regular role of Mikayla, previously played by newcomer actress Eve Moon. The show was given a full 22 episode series order by CBS back in May, 2013 and began airing on October 3, 2013. The actress selected will be required to relocate to Los Angeles for the duration of the season, and for future seasons. Submissions for consideration can be made online at the official CBS casting website that has been set up specifically for this role.
“The Millers” centers on Nathan Miller, a recently divorced local roving news reporter looking forward to living the singles life until his parent’s marital problems unexpectedly derail his plans. After Nathan finally breaks the news of his divorce to his parents, Carol and Tom, his father is inspired to follow suit and stuns the family when he leaves his wife of 43 years. Already in shock, Jack is even more aghast when his meddlesome mom decides to move in with him. Meanwhile, his absent-minded dad imposes upon Nathan’s sister, Debbie, her husband Adam and their daughter Mikayla. Now, as Nathan and his sister settle in with their truly impossible parents, they both wonder just how long the aggravating adjustment period is going to last.
Starring in “The Millers” is five-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Will Arnett playing Nathan Miller, and Primetime Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale playing Carol Miller. Other cast members include two-time Golden Globe Award winner Beau Bridges playing the role of Tom Miller, Image Awards nominee J.B. Smoove as Ray, Screen Actors Guild Awards Winner and “Glee” alum Jayma Mays as Debbie, and Nelson Franklin as Adam.
Ten-time Primetime Emmy Award winner James Burrows has directed at least the first 4 episodes of “The Millers”, and also serves as producer. Burrows was co-creator of the long running hit series “Cheers”, and has been directing TV series since the 1970’s. Primetime Emmy Award winner Gregory Thomas Garcia is creator and executive producer of “The Millers”. Garcia has served in the same capacity on the television series “My Name Is Earl,” “Raising Hope,” and “Yes, Dear”.

Note: Various directors work different episodes during the season. In television shows composed of individual episodes, the television director’s role differs from that of a film director in that he or she may work only on some television episodes as opposed to the director of an entire film production. In episodic television productions, the major creative control resides with a producer of the show.
