The popular ABC single-camera comedy series “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” has been renewed for a second season by the network and the show’s casting directors are auditioning actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Extras are also being hired throughout the season into late Fall, 2012. The show premiered with the title of “Apartment 23”, however ABC eventually renamed it to the original title in October, 2011. The season premiere of “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” airs October 23, 2012.
The series follows June Colburn, played by Dreama Walker, as she moves to New York City to pursue her dream job, until she finds out that it no longer exists. She ends up moving in with a con-artist party-girl named Chloe McGruff, played by Krysten Ritter. The two don’t get along at first, but when Chloe’s attempts at scamming June backfires, they end up forming an unlikely friendship. James Van Der Beek plays himself on the show, in a fictional storyline that has him as a good friend of Chloe’s and desperate to revamp his sagging acting career. Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Frankie Muniz, and Busy Philipps will all play themselves also in an episode of season two.
“Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” premiered on April 11 2012, following Modern Family, as a mid-season replacement during the 2011–12 television schedule. The series is executive produced by Dave Hemingson, who is also co-showrunner with Primetime Emmy nominee and series creator Nahnatchka Khan. This summer, Hemingson signed a new multi-year deal with 20th Century Fox Television, which is the studio that produces “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23”. The deal allows him to develop projects for 20th Century Fox, where he has spent the last eight years writing.

Story:
June Colburn’s (Dreama Walker) well-planned well-organized life takes a severe turn when she shows up in New York City only to discover that the corporate finance job she moved there for no longer remains. As she attempts to proceed with her newly single life in the Big Apple, her Midwestern principles are invariably put to the test by her wild and sophisticated party-girl roommate Chloe (Krysten Ritter) and Chloe’s best friend, the actor James Van Der Beek (James Van Der Beek). The two girls form an unlikely friendship that leads them both to unforeseen places and frequently-illegal adventures.
