Storyline Entertainment, Peaceout Productions and Sony Pictures Television are in pre-production on the made-for-television movie “Anna Nicole Smith Story” for Lifetime. The award winning casting director is auditioning actresses to play the title role of Anna Nicole. The film’s remaining roles will be cast after the lead role is filled. The biopic will shoot in Atlanta, GA this Fall, 2012. The extras and stand-ins will be hired in Atlanta beginning in October.
Anna Nicole was born Vicky Lynn Hogan on November 28, 1967 in Harris County, Texas. “Anna Nicole Smith Story” will follow her life from when she was in her early 20’s through her late 30’s. Anna had a son named Danny with an abusive husband whom she left to give Danny a better life, as well as pursue her dream of becoming a famous star like her lifetime idol Marilyn Monroe. The movie will depict Anna Nicole’s first experience taking Xanax and champagne to calm her nerves at a strip club try-out, to the lifelong habit that eventually became part of her downfall. The story will also cover her relationship with billionaire J. Howard, her huge fame that followed her Playboy spread, and how Anna Nicole became a super-fun party girl who never wanted to let go of fame regardless of it’s consequences.
Producing “Anna Nicole Smith Story” is Storyline Entertainment’s Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who also executive produce Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” – another Atlanta, GA area production. The duo have recently signed a new two-year deal with Sony Pictures Television to produce TV movies and miniseries. Zadan and Meron have each been nominated for 8 Primetime Emmy Awards. Sony Executive Vice President of Movies & Miniseries Helen Verno is credited with creating a partnership with Zadan and Meron two decades ago, making their relationship with the studio one of the longest in the TV movie/miniseries business. Judith Verno also executive produces with Zadan and Meron.
