Showtime Networks and Teakwood Lane Productions are now in production on the second season of the hit Golden Globe Award winning drama/thriller series “Homeland” in Charlotte, North Carolina. Auditions for series regulars, recurring roles, and guest stars takes place in New York. Additional principal actor roles and all of the extras are cast in North Carolina. The extras casting director needs all types and also a wide variety of ethnic types, both males and females of any age.
“Homeland” boasts a stellar cast that includes three-time Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes; two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Damian Lewis; and two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Mandy Patinkin. Other cast members are Morena Baccarin, Morgan Saylor, David Harewood, Jackson Pace, and Diego Klattenhoff. The first season of the series received critical acclaim and won the 2011 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama.
Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa developed “Homeland” loosely based on the Israeli series “Hatufim” (English title: “Prisoners of War”) created by Gideon Raff. Gordon is president of Teakwood Lane Productions, which produces the show along with Showtime Networks. Gansa, Raff, and Howard are also executive producers and writers. Michael Cuesta, who also directs episodes, is also one of the executive producers.
The shooting location of Charlotte, North Carolina was chosen because it offered better tax breaks than other locations, and it serves as a great match for Virginia and Washington, D.C., where the series takes place. Additional television series shot in Charlotte are Cinemax’s “Banshee”, and the CW Television Network series pilot “Shelter” produced by J.J. Abrams and starring Clint Eastwood’s son Scott Eastwood.

Note: Various directors work different episodes during the season. Story:
The series follows Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), a CIA operations officer who, after conducting an unauthorized operation in Iraq, is put on probation and reassigned to the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center in Langley, Virginia. In Iraq, Carrie was warned by an asset that an American prisoner of war had been turned by Al-Qaeda. Carrie’s job grows complicated when her boss, Director of the Counterterrorism Center David Estes (David Harewood), calls Carrie and her colleagues in for an emergency briefing. Carrie learns that Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), a U.S. Marine Sergeant who had been reported as missing in action since 2003, has been rescued during a Delta Force raid on a compound belonging to terrorist Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban). Carrie comes to believe that Brody is the American prisoner of war that her asset in Iraq was talking about. However, the federal government and her superiors at the CIA consider Brody a war hero. Realizing it would be next to impossible to convince her boss to place Brody under surveillance, Carrie approaches the only other person she can trust, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin). The two must now work together to investigate Brody and prevent another terrorist attack on American soil.
The truth about Brody will come to light during the second season of “Homeland”. The identity of Brody’s latest nemesis is Mike Faber (Diego Klattenhoff), who was Brody’s best friend and the former lover of Brody’s wife, Jessica (Morena Baccarin). Mike Faber is going to be a big factor, and since he’s in military intelligence, he is going to get a hold of the commission report on the assassination attempt against the vice president, and there’s going to be a lot of things in the report that doesn’t make sense to him. Carrie Mathison will reenter the intelligence community after her mental problems got her thrown out of the CIA. Carrie will get back involved with the Abu Nazir investigation very quickly, even if she is no longer welcome at the CIA.
