Universal Media Studios and Wolf Films are now in production on the new one hour drama series ‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’. The show is a new version of the classic court procedural based in Los Angeles. The original Law & Order series recently ended after 20 seasons, leaving it tied with Gunsmoke as the longest-running scripted show in television history.
Alfred Molina has signed on to play Deputy District Attorney Morales, and Skeet Ulrich will play Detective Rex Winters. Molina recently completed a Tony-nominated run on Broadway in Red.
Law & Order creator Dick Wolf is back and will co-executive produce with Blake Masters, who was creator and head writer of the critically acclaimed Showtime television series Brotherhood. Rene Balcer, Peter Jankowski, and Chris Misiano round out the producing team.
Casting is now ongoing for principal actors and extras. Shooting will begin on August 2, 2010.

Story:
A procedural crime drama that will follow the theme and storylines similar to the “Law & Order”-brand series on the streets of Los Angeles, with two detectives, fortysomething Rex Winters and thirtysomething TJ Jaruszalski, at the center, joined by a captain, a prosecutor and his assistant. Ulrich will play Detective Rex Winters, a handsome, rugged former Marine with the intuition of a natural cop. Winters was 6 weeks on the job when the Rodney King riots occurred, which shaped his entire policy of policing. His personal life is a bit of a mess: his first marriage ended when he had an affair – with his former partner, to whom he is now married.
