Warner Horizon Television and Turner Network Television are filming a new pilot episode of a western drama series in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The lead starring roles have been cast in Los Angeles, however the New Mexico casting director is hiring smaller speaking roles, extras, stand-ins and photo doubles. They are seeking people who can portray 1880’s western townsfolk.
Starring in “The Tin Star”, which has also been using the working title of “Gateway”, is Cam Gigandet. Gigandet is best known for his role of James in “Twilight”. Also starring is David Denman, and Keir O’Donnell. Those three play the lead roles of the Flynn brothers. Other co-stars include Academy Award winner Keith Carradine, Shannon Lucio and Eric Lange.
Three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominated Danny Cannon will direct “The Tin Star” from a screenplay written by Bruce McKenna. In addition, Cannon and McKenna will co-executive produce under the banner of Danny Cannon Productions. Deran Sarafian will also executive produce.
In addition to “The Young Americans,” starring Harvey Keitel and Viggo Mortensen, Danny Cannon has also directed “Judge Dredd,” starring Sylvester Stallone, “Phoenix,” starring Ray Liotta, Anjelica Huston, and Giovanni Ribisi, and “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. Cannon has also directed a number of commercials and music videos.
After directing the pilot for “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” he stayed on as a producer and writer, going on to do pilots for both “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: New York”. In four years CSI has grown into the most successful television franchise ever and has garnered 3 Emmy and 3 Golden Globe nominations and won 3 People’s Choice Awards.

Story:
In a nation still healing from the Civil War, lawlessness rules the small towns of the Old West. Three brothers bound by duty, honor and self preservation take a stand. Together, they fight to survive and thrive – all in a small Colorado town called Gateway. The show takes place in the 1880s and tells the story of the Flynn brothers — Terence (David Denman), Daniel (Keir O’Donnell) and Jake (Cam Gigandet) — who step in to save their town when their sheriff father is murdered, and an operative named Clem Dawkins from the famous Pinkerton detective agency comes into Gateway and is appointed as the new sheriff and temporary judge. It turns out Dawkins is being paid by a corrupt cattle baron determined to make the town his own. And to make matters personal, the Flynn brothers discover that Dawkins is the man who killed their father.
